Or, Export all Virtual Machines to an excel, csv or text file.
Or, vSphere Web Client: Exporting Virtual Machines List

Descriptions:
There are number of ways to export the list of Virtual Machines to an Excel or Text file. I am going to show you the few easiest methods of doing this. If you love GUI, you can use VMware vSphere Traditional Client or VMware vSphere Web Client and if you are a command line lover, you can use VMware vSphere PowerCLI.

Method-1: Exporting Virtual Machines List Using VMware vSphere Traditional Client
Login to your vCenter Server using VMware vSphere Traditional Client > Select your vCenter Server > Navigate to Virtual Machines tab

Go to File option > Select Export > Click on Export List…

Give a friendly File name > Choose a File Type and Save the files at desired folder path.

Method-2: Exporting Virtual Machines List Using VMware vSphere Web Client
Login to VMware vSphere Web Client > Go to your Cluster > Go to Virtual Machines Tab > Scroll down the window till bottom of the vSphere page > Click on the arrow sign as highlighted in the below screenshot.

Select one or multiple objects or select all objects depending on your requirements > Click on “Generate CSV Report” > Wait for “Save” button to be highlighted > Click on Save and Save the report at desired destination path.

Method-3: Exporting Virtual Machines List Using VMware vSphere PowerCLI
Open VMware vSphere PowerCLI > Connect with your vCenter Server >Once connected, on the command prompt type Get-VM | Export-Csv -path "d:\test.csv" > Press Enter to execute the command > Wait for the command to be completed successfully > Go to your destination folder path, here should be having your VMs inventory in a CSV file.

Note: - You can change the destination path to any convenient path you need. In my case, I have taken it as D:\ drive and file name is test.csv.

How to export active directory users list without any additional tool, powershell or script?

Or, The easiest and the coolest way of exporting All AD users list to csv file.
Or, Getting list of all AD users using active directory GUI interface and exporting them to csv/txt file.
Or, How to export AD users list to a txt or csv file?

Descriptions:
I don’t know why Microsoft does not highlight these kind of features well to the techies across the world. Trust me, it has been too late if you really don’t know “you can export AD users, Computers, Groups, Disabled AD Users etc.. without any additional tool”. Yes, I am right, without any additional tool you can have such reports exported to a CSV or TXT file using Active Directory Query feature.

I am not surprised, if you are thinking where the hell this “Active Directory Query” features is and how to use this? Same thing runs in to my mind when I come to know about this feature for the first time. :)

Guys, have you noticed “Saved Query”, a small folder under “Active Directory Users and Computers”  tree when you open “Active Directory Users and Computers” management console either by opening it directly from Server Manager or by using “dsa.msc” from your local computer?

No??? Okay, No problem at all. Let me explain little bit about this.

What is this “saved query” folder for under “Active Directory Users and Computers” management console?
This folder is the one which contains the saved queries when you use any active directory based query to get Active Directory objects reports using GUI feature of Active Directory Query tool. From here, you can generate many kind of reports, let me say it most of the available reports in AD.

How to use this?
There is no scripting, programming or Powershell expertise required for performing this task. If you have basic idea about AD objects, you can perform these steps easily.

Warning:  If you are not sure about any feature or query you are selecting/executing, better you consult your seniors before going ahead. Proceed with further steps only if you understand the steps to avoid any accidents else ignore this.

Steps:
Open Active Directory Users and Computers Console > Right Click on “Saved Query” Folder

Click on New > Query

Give any friendly name > Make sure your domain in selected under Query root section > Make sure “Include subcontainers” is checked > Click on “Define Query”.

From the Find drop down menu, Select “Custom Search

Click on “Field

Choose the field you wish (in my case, Let’s take “User” field) > Choose “Display Name” in the sub-fields window

Make sure the first blank box is containing the field you selected (in our case, its Display Name) > in the value field, please put a single star (*) > Click on OK

You should be able to see the Query String section like as highlighted in below screenshot > Click OK

Wow...!!! here you have the list of all AD users of your domain.

To export them to a txt or csv file, right click on your query that you created (in my case its AllUsersMyDomain) > Click on Export List

Browse the computer location where you wish to save this file > Select the desired file format > Click on Save.

That’s it Guys… want to explore more on this query tool? Just follow the same steps and select any other custom field.

Cheers, please write me back if you have any query or feedback about this article.

How to disable startup items in Windows 10?

Or, Disabling startup program in windows 10.
Or, Managing Startup items in Windows 10.

Descriptions:
In Windows 10 managing startup items has been simplified, MS has moved startup feature from “msconfig” to “Task Manager”.  You are no more required to go to Run, type msconfig and disable startup items and most unwanted thing is taking reboot after every enable/disable tasks performed.

In Windows 10, you are no longer required to take reboot of your PC after disabling any programs from startup. That’s cool.

This is how it looks like when you open msconfig in Windows 10.

Now to disable programs from startup in windows 10, please follow the steps below.

Steps:
Open “Task Manager

Go to “Startup” tab > Select the program you wish to prevent running at startup > Click on “Disable” button. In my case, I have chosen MS OneDrive.

How to disable TPM in BIOS (Acer TMP 257 M-521)?

Or, Error while enabling BitLocker in Windows 10 Acer laptop “the Bitlocker encryption key cannot be obtained from the trusted platform module (tpm)”.
Or, Enable Trusted Platform Module (TPM) option is grayed out in BIOS – Acer TMP 257-M-521.
Or, BitLocker encryption asking for PIN instead of password while enabling BitLocker Encryption.
Or, How to force BitLocker to use Password instead of PIN?

Error Message Details:
Bitlocker could not be enabled
The Bitlocker encryption key cannot be obtained. Verify that the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is enabled and ownership has been taken. If this computer does not have a TPM, verify that the USB drive is inserted and available.
C: was not encrypted.

Descriptios:
Some of the articles suggested to go to tpm.msc > go to action > Turn off TPM from there. and the most frustrating thing was, there was no option available there to Turn off or Turn on TPM from this action menu. Tried everything like, gpedit.msc to bypass TPM, Clear TPM, Change Owner Password from TPM management page etc. nothing worked.  L

One thing more, this is one culprit which was forcing me to enter TPIN instead of BitLocker startup password while enabling Bitlocker on my laptop with Windows 10 OS.

What Worked well?
If you want to disable TPM completely for your computer, you should do it from BIOS. In My case, I am using Acer TMP 257.

To disable TPM from BIOS of “Acer TMP 257” laptop, please follow below steps.

Steps: Reboot your PC > On the booting screen, press F2 to enter in BIOS > Go to Security tab > Set Supervisor Password

Now Go to Change TPM (TCM) State: > Hit Enter > Select Disable

Again go to “Set Supervisor Password” > Hit Enter > Enter your current password > Leave other fields blank and Hit Enter > Reboot your laptop and you are done with Disabling TPM from BIOS of your acer laptop.

Now you can proceed with enabling BitLocker with password configurations.
