BES Client service is in Stopping State or Service not starting

This error is faced by IBM Endpoint administrator that some of the servers not reporting because of BES Client Services is Stopped.
Guys this error comes based on many situations, before going to troubleshoot. We should always have a look in event viewer for this error to understand why this error coming.
Example for Error log - I have found below error log
Event Viewer description for BES Client:
The description for Event ID 20 from source BES Client cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event: Storage creation error.
Solution – we have to uninstall BES Client Completely (Administrator Access Required) from Server. And re-install BES Client services.
After successful installation Go to Services. msc and Start BES Client.
Next go to path - C:\Program Files (x86)\Bigfix Enterprise\BES Client\__BESData\__Global\Logs – to check server is reporting to any of the available IBM Endpoint Manager in your network.

This Solution applies on - Windows 2k3, 2k8 and all later versions.

    1. Hello, Thanks for writing in..

Did you tried rebooting the machine after un-installation and before re-installation?

If no, you should try it once more in that way.

If Yes, It will be great if you can share the screenshot of the error message you are getting..

      Thanks

  3. I've found (for me at least) the cause of this issue was a corrupted registry key.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BigFix\EnterpriseClient\GlobalOptions and check that the key 'StoragePath' points to your installed BES Client folder (eg: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client'), fix it if it doesn't. Restart BES Client service.
